During the ceremony, you can wear your engagement ring on your right hand. The wedding band will placed on your left hand during the ring exchange. Then, after the ceremony, you can pull the engagement ring off of your right hand and place it on your left hand over the wedding band.

The wedding band should always be the ring you place on your finger first and then you place the engagement ring over it. There is a theory that a vein runs directly from your heart toward the ring finger so this way the wedding band is closer to your heart and the engagement ring is protecting it.

Well I received one ring...my engagement ring the day my husband asked me to marry him. For my wedding band I received a gold band with round channel set diamonds (because my engagement ring is a round brilliant cut solitaire.) The best man had my wedding band & gave that to my husband to put on my finger when asked for it by the priest. My husband then put my wedding band on my finger; my maid of honor had my engagement ring so after the wedding ceremony I could place it on my finger so I had both my wedding band & engagement ring on together. That is how I wear my rings; my wedding band goes on my finger first & then my engagement ring. I never had my rings put together because when we travel I wear my wedding band & leave my engagement ring in our bank safety deposit box.

I only wanted one ring so my engagement ring was a band. That i had cleaned well and dipped so it looked new when I got it back at the ceremony.

Most brides have 2 rings: the engagement ring and the wedding band. You get the engagement ring when he proposes then during the ceremony you wear the ring and he slips the band on the same finger. But when you wear everyday you wear it the other way around (I was told).

If it's a big wedding, the ring bearer carries the rings tied with ribbon to a presentation pillow. If there is no ring bearer, the maid of honor and best man hold the rings and present them to the bride & groom when asked/instructed to by the officiant.

Usually you have an engagement ring, and a wedding band.

the wedding band can vary from a simple band, a diamond band, or a wrap band, where you actually place your engagement ring "inside" the wedding band ..

The wedding band/engagment rings are usually fused together by the jewler so you have one ring.. you can do this before the wedding, so you wear nothing down the isle, and he will place the combined ring on your finger .. plus that way you don't have to go without one for a few days after the wedding.

here is a link for what it may look like

The are always three rings when getting married...

The first ring is the Engagement-ring

The second ring is the Wedding-ring

The third ring is the Suffering
