What should I wear to a wedding if the ceremony is later?
:B asked:
I’ll be going to a wedding ceremony at 1:30 but the reception isn’t until 6:30- I’ll be going home in between. Am I expected to change my outfit in between or can I wear the same thing?

it really depends if ther wedding is formal or casual. if its formal and you wear a very nice dress i’d wear the same thing but if its casual i’d wear a dress to the wedding and a nice skirt and top with a nice jaket to the reception.

First off, you can definitley do whatever you feel the most comfortable with; however, depending on the formality of the wedding, you might consider changing into more formal or at least cocktail attire for the reception. You’ll probably find that most others will be changing into another outfit for the evening.
I was in a similar situation for a wedding we attended last year – early ceremony, late reception. I wore a nice daytime pant outfit and changed into a beautiful black gown for the reception – this was a bit more formal wedding, but i probably still would have changed into cocktail attire for the evening. …..plus, gives you the option to wear two cute outfits! Hope this helps!

I would expect you to change your clothes, and I would certainly change mine. I would wear evening dress to the reception (not necessarily a full-length satin gown with jewels — you haven’t said that this is formal — but semi-formal evening dress is also an option). I would wear a tea-length silk afternoon dress with pearls and a hat to the ceremony.
